Have you seen recipes that call for dehydrating or do you just want to dehydrate some fruit to keep it fresher longer? Me too! And, I also love a lot of different types of fried food. The problem with fried food, of course, is that we need to watch our food choices and calories at any age. But especially for health over 50, 60, and beyond. So, I’m super excited to share that I just got my Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360 from Amazon. I’ll be doing some air frying and dehydrating food for a healthy diet.
Why I Chose the Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360
The reason why I chose the Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360 is because I wanted the versatility. It has 7 other uses as well. Here’s the list:
- Air Fryer
- Rotisserie (up to a 10 lb chicken)
- Pizza Oven (up to a 12” pizza)
- Slow Cooker
As you’ll see in the following video my kitchen isn’t huge, and I don’t have a ton of counter space. Immediately the Power AirFryer 360 replaced my toaster oven and toaster saving me some counter space and outlets. I don’t have an RV but the Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360 might be a great purchase if you do.
Buy as much fresh, organic fruit and vegetables as you want without having to worry about waste. By dehydrating fruit and vegetables, they will preserve for a lot longer.
Dehydrating food removes the water content from foods during the drying process, so the risk of bacteria growth or spoiling is very low. Dehydration is commonly used by campers, hikers and even astronauts because preserving food this way is so safe.
Another of the dehydrating foods benefits is that it’s 100% natural because you won’t be adding any sugar or sodium as a preservative. And, unlike cooking and steaming, you don’t lose any of the nutritional content of the foods you are dehydrating.
Store-bought snacks can be expensive. Especially organic dehydrated foods. You can save a lot of money by purchasing fresh food items in bulk when in season, or by harvesting your own fruit and produce.
If you like to take road trips like us, or maybe you’re a camper, dehydrated foods are compact, lightweight and they travel well.
Do you live in a hurricane zone as we do, or an area that has earthquakes you may lose your electricity more often? You can dehydrate some food and store it away for an emergency.
Dehydrating foods in the oven can be frustrating because most household ovens don’t start their temperature gauges below 90 degrees. By using a food dehydrator, you have complete control when drying foods at lower temperatures.
Another of the benefits of a food dehydrator is that it is simple and easy to use. You simply prep your food by slicing into pieces, putting onto a tray in the dehydrator, set the timer and walk away. It’s that easy!

The fat content of food cooked in an air fryer has up to 75% less calories because they use 50 times less oil. This fact will help prevent conditions like inflammation and heart disease and it will aid in weight loss.
Deep frying is a high heat cooking method. High heat cooking methods produce acrylamide. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, acrylamide is classified as a “probable carcinogen,” meaning that some research shows that acrylamide may be linked to the development of cancer. You, of course, avoid acrylamide by using an air fryer.
Be sure to use a healthy oil with an air fryer even though you’ll use substantially less than with deep frying. Cooking oils like extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil, and coconut oil are all great choices. Note that these oils have a lower smoke point than does vegetable oil.
