PubMed Central - A Good Nootropics Resource
The effect of nootropics was discovered in the 1970s, and significant research has been done since the 1990s. However, the information available to the general public is somewhat limited. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) does not study natural product supplements of any kind. The FDA does, of course, study pharmaceutical drugs so there is a lot more published about synthetic nootropics. These are the smart drugs prescribed by physicians for a multitude of conditions like ADD and ADHD. Synthetic nootropic drugs are not what we’re talking about here.
