Work from Home is Not Going Away
We've been working from home for 10+ years. Our commute is about 30 feet. Our productivity is through the roof because we don't spend hours "getting ready for work" and commuting through traffic to and from a job or business. Work from home has been a great opportunity for us and we love it!
Since Covid-19 many people have joined in working from home. And, most that we've talked to love it too! But here's something that happened that no one expected. Companies have gotten great results with their employees working from home during the virus. Productivity hasn't suffered and their overhead is way down. Many companies will be closing satellite locations and saving a lot of money.
Maybe you're someone that has been working from home during the virus. Perhaps you've been appreciation the advantages. What if you could do the same thing but do while building a business for yourself?
What About a Side Hustle?
What if you could find a business that could start generating you income now to save for retirement? And, what If you could run that business on a part-time or full-time basis from anywhere? Does it sound too good to be true? It's not. Shirley and I are proof of it. After the recession of 2008, we were looking for something that I could do from home. I had been laid off and there weren't many opportunities for a 50+-year-old at that point. We stumbled into a home-based business that has generated us over $600,000 with some years being $100,000+ years.
The great part about a business like this is not just the income you can make now. It's about being able to take it on the road with you. Being able to work your business from home means you use a cell phone and a computer. Therefore, any place that there is cell and internet service is a place where you can do business. We rented a house in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina last summer. We can even do business when we're camping!
But here's the real key. Some businesses, like ours, give you the ability to build up residual income that will pay you later on a monthly basis. So, if you could start a business now that paid you now, and you could run from anywhere like the Caribbean, and that would pay you a monthly income when you retire, would that help your retirement plans?
